9/14 homework and lesson objectives

 Homework:

1. Complete Word Map for Ancestor, narrow, among, smoke, starve, pebble, cavern, spill(p. 8) Find definition in PowerPoint 

2. draw a picture/give an example (if cannot draw)

        example 1:

            The word ancestor makes me think of chimpanzees because humans and chimpanzees share the same ancestors.

        

        example 2: 

            The word aroma makes me think of Garfield because he loves the smell of lasagna. 


Lesson Agenda:

1. Phonics Prefixes un-, re-, pre-, dis-

  • textbook p. 224
    • explain the prefixes
    • give meaning of clear, new, heat, agree, and agree
    • ask the kids for new meaning after the prefixes have been added
    • identify the prefixes in the sentences
      • talk about the meaning of the sentences a bit
  • I can read
    • identify the prefixes
    • talk about the meaning of these words

 Homework: RWN p. 129 Worksheet (I wanna Iguana packet last page) Review W10 vocabulary Hello Parents,  Below is all the points that the kids have received in class for their positive behavior. Because of this point system, the kids are able to come to class on time quietly and copy down their homework in their communication books. I am very proud of each and every one of the kids in A2. They have grown a lot as 3rd graders and they are becoming more and more proactive.  I  am posting the points up today because I have decided to wipe the scoreboard clean and start afresh. I am primarily doing this because I have decided to start training the kids on acquiring new positive skills in the classroom.
